Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologists

Adam Garred

Clinical Manager and Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Adam is Clinical Manager and a senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist at QSMC. Adam brings a wealth of knowledge to the group specialising in middle to late stage Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Sport Performance Training. Adam graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise Science, and has since completed his Masters Degree specialising in Strength and Conditioning.

Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Deb is a Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist with both national and international accreditations focused on the prescription of exercise to all individuals including those impacted by both chronic disease, injury and medical conditions, the older adult as well as high performance. She is also one of only a few accredited cancer exercise specialists in Australia whose services have helped many people suffering from cancer. Deb is a qualified exercise specialist uniquely trained to assess, design and implement individual and group exercise and fitness programs for a wide range of all population groups and tailors programs that are safe, effective, challenging and enjoyable.

Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Molly is a Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist at QSMC. She graduated from the University of QLD with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (Clinical Exercise Physiology). Molly also holds a Certificate III & IV in Fitness and three group fitness certifications with Les Mills Asia Pacific. Molly works in a variety of different areas and sees clients with a wide array of injuries, chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, cancer, arthritis, diabetes, obesity) as well as older adults, people with dementia, through to high performance athletes.

Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Huw is a Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Strength and Conditioning specialist. He has both a Masters degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Bachelors degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the University of Queensland. He is currently the Head of strength and rehabilitation at Norths Devils RLFC, where he is responsible for overseeing the ISC performance program. Huw worked as an assistant strength and power coach in the High-Performance department of the Brisbane Lions AFL club, giving him the opportunity to be mentored by industry leaders. Huw has also been involved in other High-Performance departments at The Qld Reds Rugby Union Academy, The University of Queensland Sport Academy (UQ Rowing, UQ Swimming, Australian Wheelchair Rugby) and Qld Samoa Rugby Union

Dane Larsen

Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Dane is a Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist and is currently the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Taringa Rovers SFC and the Saint Margaret’s First VIII Squad. He graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology and additionally holds a Level II Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) accreditation, a Level II Functional Movement Screen (FMS) accreditation, and a Diploma of Fitness. Dane believes in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing that focuses on the unique strengths and weaknesses of the individual as well as the particular requirements and demands of their lifestyle. He enjoys working with a range of individuals – from high school students, to seniors, to weekend warriors and elite athletes.

Jenai Sutton

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Jenai is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and our newest team member at QSMC. Jenai graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and holds a Level I Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) accreditation.

During her studies Jenai completed a strength and conditioning internship with Queensland Reds Rugby and Future Generation Performance. Jenai is also currently a strength and conditioning coach at Somerville House working with a variety of sports including netball, rowing, water polo, athletics and volleyball.

Jenai strongly believes in the capacity exercise can have as medicine and is eager to work with you to share in its benefits.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

With over 15 years of industry experience and a strong Strength and Conditioning, Pilates and Running background, Stefanie is a versatile and skilled Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She has a passion for helping those with mid to long term conditions, including chronic lower back pain, mental health conditions, or women’s health issues. Helping women from fertility, through pregnancy and postnatal rehabilitation, has been a rewarding part of her role at QSMC.

Stefanie enjoys designing specific and individualised exercise programs to help clients reduce the attributes of frailty, a common limitation experienced by those over the age of 65. Frailty increases the risk of falls, physical injury or illness, and a loss of independence. The attributes of frailty include, unintentional weight loss, fatigue or exercise intolerance, weakness, slowed motor performance and poor balance, and low physical activity. 

Stefanie is an empathetic and dedicated problem-solver excited to work with you to achieve your physical goals.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Eddie is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with both a Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the Australian Catholic University. He has worked as an AEP at a number of private clinics across Brisbane, treating clients with multiple injuries and conditions across schemes such as: NDIS, DVA, Private health, Doctors referral and Workcover.

He enjoys rehabilitating and training clients in returning to sport, work or general daily life. With a keen interest in sports including: Rugby, soccer, cricket, running, touch football, swimming, weightlifting, skiing/snowboarding and surfing. Additionally, Eddie has experience in treating kids and adults with disabilities and mental health conditions and aiding in improving their conditions.

Eddie specialises in delivering rehabilitation services to post-surgical clients, particularly those who are recovering from musculoskeletal injuries.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Connor is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and the newest team member at QSMC. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Connor went on to complete a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Australian Catholic University. During his studies, Connor gained experience working with a wide variety of people, including those with Neurological conditions as well as injured athletes.

Having played AFL for many years, he has suffered from several debilitating injuries himself; he understands the impact of sporting injuries and is enthusiastic about the benefits Exercise can have. Connor has a special interest in the rehabilitation of neurological conditions and is passionate about enhancing the quality of life within everyone.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Mitch is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. He graduated from the University of QLD in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology. For the past 7 years, Mitch has been working in Port Macquarie at a multidisciplinary allied health clinic. During his time here, he gained experience across a wide range of fields including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, post-operative rehabilitation, sport-specific training, strength and conditioning, neurological disorders, disability services and chronic disease management. 

He thoroughly enjoys working with athletes of all levels, from professional to recreational, and assisting them in achieving their goals. He had a large role in delivering the Junior Athlete Sponsorship Program in Port Macquarie that saw him managing many young athletes. This involved working with them through injury rehabilitation and strength and conditioning to help them achieve their optimal sporting performance. Mitch has experience working with athletes across numerous sports including baseball, basketball, rugby union, track, golf, cricket and soccer. 

Mitch has a keen interest in the post-surgical and return to sport management of athletes. He has done further studies in knee (specifically ACL) and shoulder rehabilitation. He is passionate about reducing the number of injuries in sport and bridging the gap between rehabilitation and return to sports programming and testing.

In your initial appointment, your Exercise Physiologist will want to get to know you. We will ask questions to understand your current health and physical capabilities. Your personal goals are as equally important to us. We’re passionate about getting you back to the things you love, so don’t be surprised by our range of questions. This will help us to create a treatment plan that is achievable and in line with your objectives.
