telehealth
Manage injury and modify training when you're away
At QSMC, our Telehealth appointments have been an established method of delivering services externally to our clients for some time. Many of our travelling athletes utilise this service as a way to stay in touch and receive guidance and advice from their practitioner. It helps our elite sportspeople to manage injury, modify programs and training in line with sudden and changing circumstances when they’re away.
We know that our Telehealth appointments work well for our athletes, and it will work for you too. We provide the same level of quality care no matter your injury or situation – all from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
What's Involved In a Telehealth Appointment?
Working with your Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist over a Telehealth appointment will of course be different than coming into the clinic. However, we are experts in providing top-quality care and service in any form. During a Telehealth appointment the following may be covered:
- Comprehensive interview regarding history, area and behaviour of your condition
- Targeted physical examination that is individualised to your case
- Diagnosis of the issue you’re experiencing
- Comprehensive management plan
- Specific exercise program to quickly address pain, stiffness, and activities of daily living - tailored to your individual needs and current environment
- Social support
The same quality health care from the comfort of your own home
Telehealth appointments have been an established service here at QSMC for some time. We’re experts in providing online care and advice for all patients.
What You'll Need for Your Appointment
- Access to a computer, laptop, tablet or a phone
- We recommend finding a quiet area or room - preferably one with some space to allow for exercises
- It can be useful to jot down the details of your injury or any questions you might have
- Our team will help you access the Telehealth software by sending you a link to the meeting which you simply click to join the call
Your practitioner may ask you what type of equipment you have available at home to help develop the most efficient and convenient plan for you. Take note of items you have such as foam rollers, tennis balls etc.
