Tim Oostenbroek

Tim Oostenbroek is a Specialist Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists, 2022) consulting from the QSMC’s Woolloongabba clinic in Brisbane. He brings a wealth of experience in the management of musculo-skeletal injury and injuries associated with sport. Tim has two decades of experience working in elite sport and high-performance environments, and has previously served as Lead Physiotherapist at the Queensland Academy of Sport, supporting Australia’s top Olympic and Paralympic athletes. He served as Head Physiotherapist for Brisbane Roar FC, between 2009-2015,and has also worked with Football Australia, the Queensland Reds, Queensland Cricket, and AFL State development programs.

Tim has a strong clinical interest in diagnosing and clinically managing complex sports injuries, particularly those affecting the hip, groin, and lower limb. He also has expertise in supporting athletes with running-based injuries, quadriceps, hamstring and calf strains, Achilles tendon pain, knee injuries, and injuries to the foot and ankle complex. Tim also enjoys working with athletes in post-surgical rehabilitation, with a strong interest in ACL rehabilitation, hip surgery and rehabilitation following shoulder stabilisation procedures for instability in overhead and throwing athletes.

In addition to his clinical work, Tim is actively involved in supporting the physiotherapy profession through education and clinical mentoring. He currently contributes to University teaching programs and is involved with the Australian College of Physiotherapy, supporting the Specialist Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy training pathway to increase standards of clinical practice. Tim has also contributed to research in the field of concussion injury and is pleased to be able to provide clinical support and guidance to athletes and individuals undergoing concussion rehabilitation.

I enjoy treating sporting-related injuries, particularly those involving the hip and groin, knee, foot and ankle, tendinopathies, and shoulder conditions.

My first role as a physiotherapist was within the Royal Brisbane Hospital Graduate Program.

I enjoy watching football (soccer) and cricket, and always support the Australian team.

I’ve played both football and cricket.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

While I’m not allowed my first choice, coffee is usually my go-to.

Working with the Brisbane Roar FC and contributing to the club’s success in winning two Premiership Plates and three League Championship titles.
