PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Travis Masters

Travis began his studies in 2018 on the Gold Coast where he completed his Bachelors of Sports and Exercise Science, and Masters in Exercise Physiology. He went on to complete his Masters in Physiotherapy Studies at The University of Queensland, graduating in 2023 and intends on furthering his education through Titling, as a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist. He is currently the Head Physiotherapist and Medical Co-Ordinator to one of the Gold Coasts premier AFL clubs and two of the Gold Coasts premier Rugby Union clubs. Travis continues to work and travel both domestically and internationally with a variety of resident and national sporting teams including:

  • Australian & Queensland Indoor Cricket
  • Australian Beach Handball
  • Cook Islands Touch Football
  • Touch Football World Cup
  • Indoor Netball Federation Queensland
  • Queensland Touch Football
  • National Premier League Soccer
  • National Touch League – Sydney Scorpions
  • QAFL
  • Gold Coast Districts Rugby Union

Travis is also a qualified Strength and Conditioning coach, bringing to QSMC an active approach to rehabilitation through exercise, and a strong focus on sports performance training to help patients achieve their goals. He enjoys seeing a variety of conditions in clinic, with a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sport related injuries, particularly those seen in contact sports. This passion comes from his years of rugby league involvement, of which he currently still plays.

So, whenever Travis isn’t in the clinic, he is likely away working with sport, playing sport, or riding his beloved Ducati through the mountains.

Get To Know Travis

Sporting injuries, and lots of them!! When I realised, I was unlikely to make it professionally, I thought the second-best option was to help other likeminded people achieve their goals. What better way to do that than become a sports physio.

I think my favourite sports to treat would have to be my own personal hobbies; so combat sports, snow sports, contact sports and motor sports. I am a bit of a fan of treating the lower limb (Hips, Knees, Ankles); but I leave the feet for the Podiatrists!

I have done some work in Whistler with some snow sports early on in my university degree, so that is hard to top!

I am fairly decent on a snowboard! Just don’t let any of my friends see this or they might disagree!

That’s a hard pick, because I am an avid fan of Drum and Bass but that doesn’t always do the trick. If I’m in dire need of motivation, I’ll always head for 50 cent or Eminem!

All about quieting the mind. So, headphones all the way, even in the sheds.
