PHYSIOTHERAPIST
ABBEY LE BUSQUE
Abbey graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University in 2019 and has since built a well-rounded career across public health, private practice, and elite sport. Her clinical experience includes roles with Queensland Health, as well as hands-on work with high-performance athletes and teams.
Abbey has been heavily involved with the Brisbane Lions, having worked across both AFL and AFLW programs. She currently serves as the Physiotherapist for the Brisbane Lions AFLW team and is the Head Physiotherapist for the Girls Academy, where she plays a key role in injury management, rehabilitation, and athlete development.
Abbey grew up loving sport, playing netball, touch football, and AFL. Her personal experience with sporting injuries sparked a deep interest in physiotherapy from a young age. She is passionate about helping others return to the activities they love—whether that’s high-level sport or everyday movement—and has a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, sports rehab, and end-stage return-to-play protocols. Abbey is currently studying her Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy at LaTrobe University.
When she’s not in the clinic or on the field, Abbey loves staying active, exploring the outdoors, and travelling—especially to snow-covered destinations.
Teams Abbey has worked with:
- Brisbane Lions AFLW
- Brisbane Lions AFL
