Kevin Sims
Kevin Sims is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2007), a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and holds a PhD in physiotherapy. He has spent over 20 years at the forefront of elite Australian sport. His extensive career includes serving as the National Physiotherapy Manager for Tennis Australia and the Case and Rehabilitation Manager for Cricket Australia. Kevin has provided workload guidance and clinical care to National and State teams through numerous Test matches, One-day series, and World Cups.
Kevin has a strong clinical interest in diagnosing and managing complex injuries of the lower limb, with a particular focus on hip pain, groin injuries, and lumbar spine bone stress injuries. His work in the elite cricket environment has also cultivated a specialised skillset in management and rehabilitation throwing-related injuries of the shoulder and elbow, as well as managing the unique rehabilitation needs of adolescent athletes.
Beyond the clinic, Kevin is a dedicated researcher and educator. He has taught postgraduate physiotherapy at the University of Queensland for over 30 years. As a published researcher and book chapter author, Kevin’s work on hip dysfunction and lumbar stress fractures ensures his patients receive care informed by the highest levels of evidence.
