Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Matt Crear

Matt Crear is a Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist at QSMC’s Bowen Hills clinic, where he blends high-performance strength and conditioning principles with clinical rehabilitation. Matt has served as a high-performance lead for elite athletes, most notably working with PGA golfing professionals and world-class sprinters. His experience at the highest level of sport allows him to support athletes of all calibres in bridging the gap between injury recovery and return-to-performance.

Matt’s clinical focus is the management of musculoskeletal injuries, with a particular interest in spine, hips, and lower limbs (knees and ankles). He is highly skilled in post-surgical rehabilitation, helping clients navigate the journey from acute recovery back to a physically active lifestyle.

In addition to his clinical work, Matt is committed to the growth of the profession through his previous roles as a university lecturer and tutor. He has been involved in academic research studies exploring the intersection of exercise and mental health. This dedication to education and research allows him to provide comprehensive care for both recreational movers and elite competitors.

Matt Crear's Clinical Areas of Interest

When he isn’t in the clinic, Matt enjoys being  active through running and hitting the fairways for a round of golf. Matt enjoys getting out with his Cocker Spaniel, Fernley, and is a self-confessed coffee enthusiast who can often be found searching for the perfect coffee.
