Michael Dalgleish is a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with a career defined by elite-level high-performance support. With over 30 years of international experience, Michael has served as a cornerstone of medical teams for some of Australia’s most iconic sporting institutions, including an 11-year tenure with the Queensland State of Origin team and 10 years with the Brisbane Broncos. He previously supported six Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) squads across Golf, Rugby League, Women’s Hockey, Football, Women’s Water Polo, and Track and Field, alongside work with the AIS Diving program. His resume spans the globe, having provided international sports coverage and consulting across the UK, USA, Europe, and Asia, particularly within the Commonwealth Games and professional Olympic programs.
Michael has clinical interest in complex problem-solving for musculoskeletal issues, with a particular focus on the spine, hip, shoulder, and lower limb. He is highly regarded for his work with “The Golf Athlete” and “Golf Biodynamics,” providing performance enhancement physical screening for elite, developing, and masters-age golfers. While he enjoys the challenge of returning elite athletes to peak performance, Michael is equally passionate about supporting activity-focused individuals aged 50–80, helping them manage chronic conditions and lower back pain to maintain an active lifestyle.
Michael’s contribution to the profession extends into academia and clinical leadership, having previously served as a Lecturer for the Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. His extensive background in sports science and physiotherapy allows him to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and long-term athletic development. Beyond his clinical work, Michael provides specialised services including sports screening and Medicare-supported care for his long-term client base.
